Nick de Scally (Gr11) represented KZN in the national schools athletics event in Bloemfontein on Saturday, 13 October. He won the 800m race, running his personal best time, which is now 1:54. This result was only just off the record by 1 second, a record which Johan Cronje, a world championship bronze medalist, has held for the last 20 years. It is also the longest standing record for the Grey Bloemfontein Athletics event. Nick followed this awesome success with a 4th position in the demanding 1500m.
