At the KZN Schools Athletics Championships held at Kings Park in Durban this month Nick De Scally ran a Personal Best for his 1500m heat, placing 3rd and then ran a Personal Best in the final. There were about 30 athletes who were selected to take part in the champs from their respective districts.
Nick managed to come 5th overall and he beat his arch-rival.
Nick achieved another Personal Best in his 800m heat and got the 3rd fastest qualifying time which would have got him a silver medal in the Free State champs final. There were 40 athletes in the heats for the 800m.
Unfortunately, Nick was so tired that he did not run the time he was hoping for and placed 7th.
There were only 3 boys in KZN who took part in the 1500m and 800m.
Grace College is proud of him and acknowledges all the time and effort which Nick dedicates to his training.
