The purpose of the Outreach programme is to get our pupils to interact with other communities, realise how privileged they are and how much they really have and in turn give back to the community. By pushing them out of their comfort zone they will grow socially and in confidence. Some outreach days will be held where the pupils will be able to choose which project they would like to participate in and then later continue on their own. They will be able to use these hours as part of their 20 hours of community service for Life Orientation.
In addition Grade 8s and 10s visit S’bongumbomvu Combined School throughout the year. They work with the younger grades, helping with reading and mathematical literacy. The whole school is involved in a Christmas Party at the end of the year.
Some of the outreaches that Grace College pupils are involved in are:
- Free Me Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre
- Sunnyside Park Home
- Tabitha Ministeries
- Greys Hospital
- Prestbury Preschool
- Assisting with an entertainment area at Envande in Edendale
Grace College also gets involved with fund raising initiatives such as Sunflower Day and Tekkie Tax Day.
